Gaudí Inspiration: an animal paradise

Antoni Gaudí’s work is characterised by a unique fusion of architecture, nature and art. He transformed traditional forms through curving lines, organic structures and an innovative use of materials, creating spaces imbued with poetry and movement. His creations, such as the Sagrada Família, Park Güell and Casa Batlló, celebrate nature by incorporating floral motifs, animal forms and vibrant colours.

Through this exhibition, the artist Tatiana Ianciu pays tribute to the fascinating and original world of Antoni Gaudí, an emblematic figure of Catalan Modernism who revolutionised classical conventions through bold creativity. Gaudí skillfully combined forms, colours and symbols into a harmonious whole reflecting nature and local culture.

Tatiana Ianciu focused on elements of Gaudí’s work, transposing them into a dreamlike world where trencadis mosaics, spirals and symbolic creatures coexist with fauna: birds, mammals and even insects! The artist’s creative process was fuelled by close observation of Gaudí’s work. She drew inspiration from undulating forms, vibrant colours and architectural details. Here, the animal world becomes a guide, and also a witness, all the while leaving its mark upon the Catalan architectural world. 

Through this series, Tatiana Ianciu offers the public a dialogue between art, nature and imagination, inviting each and every one of us to rediscover Gaudí through a poetic and expressive lens.
