Summer 1984 -  With Margaret Thatcher in power, the National Union of Mineworkers calls a strike. As they protest in London, a group of gay and lesbian activists decide to raise money to help the miners’ families. However, the National Union of Mineworkers seems embarrassed to receive their help. The group of activists is not deterred. After spotting a mining village in the depths of the Welsh countryside, they set off in a minibus to hand the money over to the miners in person. Thus begins the extraordinary story of two communities with seemingly nothing in common who unite to defend the same cause.
