Libraries
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities provides its student and teaching communities with 18 thematic libraries and collections. The library catalogue includes a total of 600,000 books, 350,000 e-books, 60,000 online periodical issues, and 165 databases.
The Faculty fosters collaborative work and facilitates research thanks to innovative tools.
Some collections are valuable, rare, or even unique. Specialists regularly come from all around the world to see them.
- The Clignancourt library. 3 floors. 150,000 books, scores and musical CDs. 210 periodicals. 4,000 geographical maps and 1,000 audiovisual documents.
- The library of the Centre for Catalan studies. 11,000 books and 190 periodicals in old and modern Catalan
- The library of the Sorbonne Centre of research on Egyptology. 9, 000 books and specialised periodicals about Egypt and Sudan.
The communities of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities also have access to the Sorbonne interuniversity library (bibliothèque interuniversitaire de la Sorbonne – BIS) at a preferential rate. Among other things, this library contains specialised collections, with almost two million books, volumes, theses and periodical issues, including 12,000 online periodicals and e-books.
