How to get prepared for the new academic year 2024-2025
Follow this step-by-step guide to be ready for the start of the new academic year. Learn everything there is to know from the application process to the beginning of the first term.
1. Applying for a degree programme
You need to apply for a degree programme in order to be able to enrol in it. The application process and deadlines vary depending on the type of degree programme (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD…) and the year you wish to apply for (first year, second year or third year). If your application is approved, you will be sent an admission notice, which will allow you to carry out your administrative registration.

2. Completing the administrative registration process
Administrative registration allows you to be registered as a student at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, to activate your user ID, and to receive your student card and certificate of enrolment. Administrative registration can only be carried out once you have applied and been accepted to the faculty. The registration process and deadlines also vary depending on the type of programme and the year you wish to enrol in.
NB: No need to panic if your administrative registration is not entirely done before the start of the academic year: you will be able to regularise your administrative situation later! In the meantime, keep up with the faculty’s news to avoid missing any events or classes.

3. Attending information sessions
Information sessions are organised in September. They are important moments allowing you to gather all the necessary information to ensure that your year runs smoothly. These sessions are opportunities to meet teaching staff and find out about the course registration process. You are welcome to attend the sessions even if your administrative registration is not complete yet.
4. Completing your course registration
Once you have received your student card and certificates for the year, and know everything about your programme thanks to the information sessions, it is time to move on to the last step of the registration process: course registration.
This final step allows you to choose your courses and build your own timetable by enrolling in seminars (TDs, i.e. travaux dirigés), which offer a choice of different time slots, and come as additions to lectures (CMs, i.e. cours magistraux), which take place at a set time.
Registration deadlines vary depending on the type of programme and the year you are enrolled in.
