Faculty of Arts, Languages, Literature and Humanities is offering intensive courses in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) in August and September 2024 on the campus of Clignancourt (18th arrondissement).
Faculty of Arts, Languages, Literature and Humanities is offering intensive courses in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) to improve your French, open to the general public. 3 formulas are available:
- General French (FG) course, level A2: from August 26 to September 6, 2024
- General French (FG) course, levels B1, B2, C1: from September 2 to 13, 2024
- French for University Purposes (FOU) course, levels B2/C1: from September 2 to 13, 2024
What courses are offered ?

General French course (FG)
Courses are offered for levels A2, B1, B2 and C1 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Using a variety of materials and themes, they enable participants to work on the four skills needed to master the French language:
- written comprehension
- oral comprehension
- written expression
- oral expression
In addition to improving language skills, these courses offer the opportunity to become more familiar with French culture and civilization by tackling new themes every day. Planned visits allow participants to discover French culture in a concrete way while improving their language skills.

French for University Purposes (FOU) course
Courses are offered for levels B2/C1 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). These courses enable you to improve your written production and understand French university methodology, by experimenting with the most commonly used exercises in all disciplines:
- the essay
- the book report
- the explanation of text
- the commentary
- the document synthesis
To acquire a solid general culture in the humanities, participants work on original documents (famous literary, philosophical and historical extracts).
What are the hours and duration of internships?
Courses last 2 weeks, from Monday to Friday. Classes are given in the morning or afternoon, at a rate of 3 hours per day.
Total number of hours :
- General French (FG) course: 30 hours of classes
- French for University Purposes (FOU) course: 30 hours of classes
What are the courses fees?
- Students with CROUS grants (presentation of proof): free
- Sorbonne University students: €50
- Non-Sorbonne University students (in France or abroad): €480
- Employees or job-seekers: €660

Registration until July 15 at 12 noon: access the registration form.
Once you complete the form, you will receive a pre-confirmation e-mail (within 72h) enabling you to pay the registration fees.
Please note that registration for the course does not give the right to a student visa
